The history of the Bank can be traced to the end of the Second World War (WWII). Agitations from the indigenes against foreign imports led to a general boycott by the local population led by the Association of West African Merchants (AWAM). The colonial administration decided to establish an entity that would facilitate the involvement of private indigenous persons in business.
The Board of Directors and Staff of the National Investment Bank have jointly donated an amount of One Hundred and Eighty-five Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵185,000.00) to the COVID-19 National Trust Fund. This unique gesture forms part of the Bank’s contribution to the national program to combat the spread and adverse impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) on the country and its citizens.
