NIB Commissions Adentan Branch to Champion 24-Hour Economy Initiative
The National Investment Bank PLC (NIB) has officially commissioned its new Adentan Branch, marking a significant milestone as the Bank’s first 24-hour service outlet. The initiative is designed to support the newly established Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) office in Adentan and aligns strongly with H.E. President John Dramani Mahama’s 24-hour economy policy aimed at expanding access to essential public services, boosting productivity, and creating sustainable employment opportunities.
The Minister for Transport, Hon. Joseph Bukari Nikpe, officially commissioned the branch on behalf of the President.

Other dignitaries present at the inauguration ceremony, which took place at the premises of the Adenta DVLA Office, on the Madina- Adenta road, included the Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of Operations, Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, who represented the President; Chief Executive Officer of DVLA, Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey; and the Member of Parliament for the Adentan Constituency, Hon. Mohammed Adamu Ramadan.
In his keynote address, the Managing Director of NIB, Chief Dr. Doliwura Zakaria, highlighted the strategic importance of the Adentan Branch in advancing government’s 24-hour economy agenda. He noted that the Bank will operate the branch in three shifts to ensure uninterrupted service delivery, not only to meet the needs of DVLA customers but also to provide round-the-clock banking services to the broader Adentan community.
Chief Dr. Zakaria emphasized the significant cost savings NIB has realized through its partnership with the DVLA, describing it as a model of public-private collaboration that delivers efficiency and shared value. He reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to expanding this model across the country by working closely with the Ministry of Local Government to replicate similar initiatives within Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs).
“This initiative is not just about extended hours. It is about building systems that work for Ghanaians and create real economic impact,” the MD stated. “By leveraging these collaborations, we can scale up job creation, particularly for the youth, while offering affordable financial services that empower local businesses.”

The Adentan Branch is poised to become a hub for inclusive financial services, offering a full range of banking solutions including deposits, digital banking, investment services, and competitive loans tailored to meet the needs of entrepreneurs and small businesses within the municipality. The launch of the 24-hour branch is yet another demonstration of NIB’s ongoing transformation and its renewed mandate to play a pivotal role in national development by deepening financial inclusion and supporting key sectors of the economy.
