
National Investment Bank PLC Strengthens Partnership with Student Loan Trust Fund
The Managing Director of National Investment Bank PLC (NIB), Chief Dr. Doliwura Zakaria, has held a strategic meeting with Dr. Saajida Shiraz, Chief Executive Officer of the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), to explore deeper collaboration between the two institutions aimed at enhancing financial services delivery and supporting the nation’s student community.
The meeting, which took place on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, focused on strengthening existing ties and creating new avenues of partnership that would benefit both institutions and the larger educational sector.
Chief Dr. Zakaria disclosed that the primary objective of the meeting was to advocate for enhanced business collaboration between NIB and the Trust Fund. He assured the SLTF leadership of NIB’s commitment to providing prompt, efficient, and high-quality financial services, emphasizing that a partnership with NIB would yield unmatched value and reliability.
In her response, Dr. Shiraz expressed profound gratitude to the MD and his team for the visit and the proposal presented. She acknowledged the longstanding relationship between SLTF and NIB, particularly in areas such as cash collections and SSNIT deductions, and reaffirmed her confidence in NIB’s capabilities.
The CEO of SLTF expressed optimism about the future of the partnership and indicated interest in expanding collaboration with NIB, particularly in the area of loan disbursements to students. She added that the Trust Fund would encourage students to open accounts with NIB and called for the bank’s support in providing broader financial assistance to students nationwide.
Chief Dr. Zakaria, in his closing remarks, appealed to the SLTF leadership to consider finalizing the disbursement collaboration with NIB, emphasizing the bank’s readiness to deliver on its promises.
