Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment Collaborates with NIB PLC to Strengthen Economic Development

The Managing Director of National Investment Bank PLC (NIB), Chief Dr. Doliwura Zakaria, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Labour, Jobs, and Employment, Hon. Dr. Abdul-Rashid Pelpuo, to discuss strategic collaboration between the two institutions.

During the meeting, Chief Dr. Zakaria congratulated Hon. Dr. Pelpuo on his appointment and wished him success in his new role. He provided insights into NIB’s recent financial progress, highlighting that the Bank had been recording consistent month-on-month profits and was on track to end the year with a positive bottom line.

The Managing Director further emphasized the government’s commitment to positioning NIB as the Bank of choice for state institutions, as reflected in the inclusion of the Bank’s recapitalization in the 2025 national budget. He, therefore, urged the Minister to partner with NIB by channeling the Ministry’s funds, as well as those of its agencies, through the Bank. Chief Dr. Zakaria assured the Minister that NIB would provide superior customer service, innovative financial products, and tailor-made solutions to meet the Ministry’s needs.

Hon. Dr. Pelpuo welcomed the engagement and expressed his willingness to support NIB’s growth. He assured the Managing Director that he would engage with the Ministry’s Director of Finance to explore opportunities for directing funds to NIB.

The Minister also encouraged NIB to deepen its corporate social responsibility efforts by offering grants to support underprivileged communities in rural areas. He noted that such initiatives would not only enhance the Bank’s corporate reputation but also contribute meaningfully to national development.

This high-level engagement reaffirms the shared commitment of NIB and the Ministry of Labour, Jobs, and Employment to fostering economic empowerment, job creation, and financial inclusivity. Both parties look forward to further discussions to solidify this strategic partnership and drive sustainable development across Ghana.
