GCB Bank MD Pays Courtesy Call on NIB MD, Pledges Support for Growth

The Managing Director of GCB Bank PLC, Mr. Farihan Alhassan, has paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director of National Investment Bank PLC (NIB), Dr. Doli-Wura Awushi Abdul-Malik Seidu Zakaria, to formally congratulate him on his appointment and discuss avenues for collaboration between the two state-owned financial institutions.

During the visit, which took place at NIB’s headquarters, Mr. Alhassan commended Chief Dr. Zakaria on his new role and assured him of GCB Bank’s support in driving the transformation and growth of NIB. He emphasized the importance of synergy between the two government-backed banks, highlighting the need for strategic partnerships to enhance the financial sector and contribute to national development.

Discussions centred on strengthening cooperation in key areas such as financial inclusion, investment banking, digital transformation, and corporate governance. Both leaders acknowledged that closer collaboration would enable the banks to better deliver on their shared mandates while promoting economic growth and financial stability in Ghana.

Chief Dr. Zakaria expressed his gratitude to Mr. Alhassan for his support and reaffirmed his commitment to working together to achieve mutual goals. “We appreciate this show of solidarity from GCB Bank. As state-owned institutions, our shared objective is to create a resilient banking sector that drives economic development. NIB is committed to exploring areas of collaboration that will be beneficial to both institutions and, ultimately, to our customers and the country at large,” he stated.

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening ties between NIB and GCB Bank, with both leaders expressing optimism about the future of Ghana’s banking industry through cooperation and shared innovation.
