NIB Introduces Fast Pay Service For NLA Winners
The National Investment Bank Limited has come out with a new service designed to give greater access to winners of the Mobigame and Automation games. This service was designed in conjunction with the National Lotteries Authority (NLA) and is called the NIB/NLA Fast Pay service.
Previously, winners of these games had to contact NLA offices in the regional capitals before they could access their winnings. Accessing the winnings could sometimes delay especially if the NLA had run out of funds at their head office.
With the Fast Pay Service at the National Investment Bank Limited (NIB), all a winner needed to do was to present his or her winning ticket with a photo identification to any NIB branch nationwide. After filling a Fast Pay form and verifying the tickets, winners are paid and they also have the choice to pay into an account for safe keeping or for savings.
Direct links between the National Investment Bank Limited and the National Lotteries Authorities enables the Bank to verify the ticket after which the winnings are paid. The bank is authorised to pay winnings to the sum of GH¢10,000.00. For winnings above GH¢10,000.00, the winners would be referred to the NLA before payment is made.
Some winners who had come to collect their winnings from the NIB were very pleased as they did not have to go all the way to the NLA offices to cash their winning tickets. In addition, they were happy because they now had the opportunity to quickly bank their money and avoid the risk of armed robberies.
Mr. Felix Twum-Darko of the Marketing and Corporate Department said the NIB was pleased to offer the service for the benefit of the ordinary Ghanaians. The Bank, he said, had realized that there was the need to extend its services and saw lotteries in Ghana as a big market to take advantage of. This he, he explained further was the fact that, financial transactions went beyond the NLA to its accredited agents and the winners.
There are plans to add on other games not necessarily from the NLA stables and in addition, organize training and counseling sessions for stakeholders in this sector.
