NIB Donates Computers To Anumle Cluster Of Schools
The National Investment Bank Limited has presented computers to the Anumle Cluster of Schools in the Achimota District.
The donation, which forms part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility was aimed at improving and growing the relationship between the Bank and the community.
Already installed on the computers were the basic Microsoft programmes to get the pupils to have some basic knowledge and understanding of the need and use of Information Communication Technology in today’s world.
Presenting the computers on behalf of the Bank, Ms. Marciana Kapomey, said that Bank was aware of the growing trend of technological advances and the need for Ghanaian school going children to be abreast of time and to ensure that they were not left behind.
She also expressed the sentiments of the Bank that all the pupils should be encouraged to use the computers for their studies and be more conversant with it.
Mr. Patrick Duncan, an officer of the ICT Department of the Bank took some children through the programmes and shows them how to handle the software.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Ghana Education Service and the school, Mrs. Owusu-Hemeng, the Headmistress of the Anumle No. 1 Basic School, said that they were very grateful to the Bank for responding to the needs of the school and the fact that they had found it important to include them in their list of social causes. She affirmed the Bank’s need that the computers would be used for the benefit of the pupils.
She also asked other corporate bodies to emulate the example of the National Investment Bank Limited.
